On behalf of the meeting committee, it is my great pleasure to inform you that the 55th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists (JSPP) will be held from March 18 to 20, 2014 at Gofuku Campus of University of Toyama (http://www.u-toyama.ac.jp) in Toyama City, Japan. We are looking forward to welcoming you, your spouses, and your colleagues in Toyama.
The importance of plant science is now widely and increasingly recognized, and further advance is essential to break the difficult situation related to food, environment, and energy. The annual meeting provides an excellent opportunity to have a fruitful discussion on frontier researches in the field of plant science. We are expecting that more than one thousand papers will be presented at symposia, and oral and poster sessions.
Toyama is a district along the Japan Sea, having a large number of scenic spots with hot springs. The venue for the meeting is located approximately 2 km west of JR Toyama Station and easily accessed by a public transport system. In the downtown area around Toyama station, there are many hotels and restaurants that serve traditional Japanese cuisines as well as Asian and Western foods.
We hope to meet you next year!
