Applications for attendance

5. General Lectures, etc.
  • Two types of presentations, oral and poster, will take place at the meeting.
  • Please note that due to venue constraints, participants may be asked to change the type of presentation.
  • A projector is available for oral presentations. Presenters who need assistance in operating the projector must arrange this for themselves.
  • Detailed information for projector use, poster sizes, etc., will appear on the Annual Meeting website.
  • Bearing in mind that the JSPP is becoming more international, we are considering having abstracts for general presentations submitted in English only. Details will be posted on the Annual Meeting website.
6. Symposia
  • As always, JSPP members are encouraged to submit proposals for symposia.
  • Symposia last for 3 hours and take place during the meeting either in morning or afternoon sessions.
  • The only device which may be used is a projector.
  • We actively encourage presenters to hold symposia in English in order to make the meeting more international. JSPP Headquarters is planning to have funding available for supporting symposia in English (up to ¥300,000 per symposium, up to 6 symposia). Please visit the JSPP Annual Meeting website for details (to be uploaded in August). Please contact the Annual Meeting Committee Office (jspp2016@nacos.com) if information is required before then.
  • Proposals should be submitted by e-mail (jspp2016@nacos.com) in an application file by August 31, Monday, 2015, in accordance with the guidelines below.
  • A confirmation e-mail will be sent out on receipt of the proposal. Please note that if no confirmation e-mail is received, the proposal has not been entered into the system.
  • The number of symposium proposals has been increasing in recent years, and for the upcoming meeting we are planning to limit the number of symposia to 15. Should the number of proposals exceed this number, the Annual Meeting Committee will select the best proposals. It is likely that symposia in English will be given priority. Please note that venue and timing constraints may affect the committee’s decision.
  • Each participant is limited to one presentation, whether it be in a symposium, a general lecture or a poster presentation. Please bear this in mind when submitting a symposium proposal.
  • Please note that we cannot pay travel expenses and gratuities to non-members who give presentations.
Guidelines for submitting a symposium proposal

Please submit the following, limiting the file contents to one A4 page.

  1. Representative’s name (in case of multiple representatives, please specify contact person), professional affiliation, address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address

  • A confirmation e-mail will be sent out on receipt of the proposal. Please note that if no confirmation e-mail is received, the proposal has not been entered into the system.
  • The Annual Meeting Committee will discuss the proposals and decide which of them will be accepted. Participants who submitted proposals will be informed of the committee’s decision by December 21, Monday, 2015.

9. Abstracts

The Morioka Annual Meeting wishes to continue the practice of sending out meeting abstracts electronically. Abstracts will be available via smart-phone application and pdf formats. There will be a printed version for those who request it, but we would appreciate it if as many participants as possible opted for the electronic version. As before, the program and venue maps will be handed to participants in booklet form.

10. Accommodation
  • The Annual Meeting Committee Office does not provide assistance with accommodation. Please make your own arrangements.
  • Reservations should be made as soon as possible. There are many hotels in Morioka, but availability can be scarce if a number of events coincide.
  • The Morioka Annual Meeting will be supported financially by the Morioka Tourism & Convention Association, the sum of which depends on the number of participants who stay at hotels included in the Morioka MICE Event Funding Accommodation List. We would be most grateful if you select your hotel from this list. We will inform participants at a later date of forms they must fill in, etc. to enable us to avail of this funding.
11. Childcare

A childcare facility will be available at the Morioka Annual Meeting. Application guidelines will be sent out in due course.

12. Advertisements/Displays

We are looking for corporations and groups who may wish to place an advertisement in the abstract booklet or set up a display of devices/literature at the meeting venue. We are planning a luncheon seminar in order to enhance the advertizing reach for corporations or groups who will be putting up device displays. Please visit the Annual Meeting website for details (to be launched in August).

Details will come in November on this website.
