Regulations for the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists Special Award
Enacted on December 13, 2014
The Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists (hereafter referred to as “JSPP”) shall confer the JSPP Special Award (hereafter referred to as the “Special Award”) to honor an individual or an organization that has promoted plant science and made a tremendous contribution to the development of plant science–related fields.
The Special Award shall be granted regardless of the awardee’s nationality. However, a significant portion of the research or the project for which the Special Award is granted must have been carried out in Japan.
Either the President or a group of 5 or more Delegates shall nominate a candidate and submit a JSPP-prescribed nomination form and relevant documents to the JSPP Headquarters. The Committee, which has been organized under the JSPP Award Committee regulations stipulated separately, shall vote on the submitted nominations and notify the result to the President by the end of October. The President shall determine the awardee by a resolution of the Board of Directors.
The President shall present an honorary certificate and a commemorative shield to the Special Award recipient at the award ceremony of the JSPP Annual Meeting. In general, awardees resident in Japan shall give an award lecture at the Annual Meeting.
These regulations shall take effect in the 2015 fiscal year.
