The Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists Regulations for Honorary Member Selection
Enacted on February 21, 2015
Article 1
These regulations provide the procedures for honorary member selection stipulated in Article 6 of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists (hereafter referred to as “JSPP”) Articles of Incorporation.
Article 2
The JSPP may select an honorary member from the individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the JSPP or to the advancement of plant physiology. To be an honorary member, the candidate shall be:
- (1) a JSPP member who has been awarded the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists Outstanding Contribution Award (hereafter referred to as the “Contribution Award”) and is aged 65 or older, or
- (2) a person who has been nominated by the President or the Delegates and approved by a resolution of the Board of Directors.
Article 3
Candidates nominated by the President need not be JSPP members and there shall be no age requirement. The President can solicit opinions from the Delegates in nominating honorary members.
Article 4
Under Article 6-4 of the Articles of Incorporation Chapter 3, an honorary member shall be nominated by a resolution of the JSPP Board of Delegates.
Supplementary Provision
These regulations shall take effect in the 2015 fiscal year.
