As part of the 2018 Database Issue, Horler et al. (on pp. e5) report on the SeedStor germplasm management system (https://www.seedstor.ac.uk) created by the Germplasm Resources Unit (GRU), Norwich. This system is used to manage the collections of the GRU providing a public interface for researchers and the general public to request accessions, and a separate Control Panel to handle these seed requests, the annual regeneration of material in glasshouse and field, as well as the auditing/reporting needs of the GRU.
The cover image shows a range of different seed stocks held by the Germplasm Resources Unit, Norwich UK (supplied by A. Davis, JIC photography), while the top right panel shows logos for all the database papers featured in this issue.
