You are cordially invited to the 65th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Plant Physiologists, JSPP, to be held on March 17 - 19, 2024. The meeting will cover many exciting subjects in the field of plant biology.

When preparing figures and tables for your presentation, please consider Color Universal Design.

1) General presentations

1. Qualification of presenters

In accordance with JSPP Article 7(3), the presenters of the Annual Meeting must be JSPP members. If you are a presenter who is in the process of enrollment, please complete the procedure and the payment of the membership fee before the Annual Meeting; otherwise, your presentation will be canceled.
In addition, members of the Taiwan Society of Plant Biologists (TSPB) and the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) may give a presentation at the annual meeting.

2. Style of presentation

The type of presentation (poster or oral presentation) is decided by the program committee to meet the requests at the time of application, but if you select “No preference” at the time of application, please make sure to confirm the type of presentation through the program before proceeding with your preparations.

3. Poster presentations

Posters should be in English. If the presentation language is Japanese, please include the Japanese version of the title. Poster presentations will be held on-site (Presenters should attend on-site. Online presentation is not available.). In addition, poster viewings and online bulletin boards for discussion will be available before and during the Annual Meeting dates. The details of preparation will be announced later.

Posters will be made available online (for viewing and chat-style Q&A during the meeting), although they will be presented at the on-site venue. Poster discussions (Q&A session) will be made at the on-site venue and will not be made available online. Poster presenters are requested to submit their poster data for online publication according to the following instructions. Please note that the deadline for submission is early. Please also print and bring your poster for on-site presentation.

Poster Specifications

Posters should be written in English. However, if your presentation language is Japanese, please include the title in Japanese.

On-site Presentation

-Poster panels should be 90 cm wide by 210 cm high (to the floor). Pins for attaching posters will be provided at the poster room.

-Please stand in front of your poster during the Q&A session.

-Any posters left after the removal time will be removed by the Annual Meeting Committee.

Submission of Poster Data for Online Publication
Submission period:
Monday, February 26, 2024 9:00 - Monday, March 4, 2024 24:00 (JST)

Please convert your poster to PDF format so that it can be viewed online during the Annual Meeting. The data size of your poster should be less than 2 MB if possible. The maximum size is 3 MB. Data larger than 3 MB cannot be submitted. We appreciate your cooperation in reducing the load on the system so that many people can participate in the symposium in a comfortable environment.
• Please upload PDF f iles to t he abstract submission system between February 26 and March 4.
Uploading instructions will be provided to presenters. Please note that PDF files can only be viewed, not
downloaded.
Please be sure to upload a PDF file.
During the online poster viewing period (March 17, 9:00 a.m. - March 19, 5:00 p.m.), you can also use the
comment box on the abstract page of your poster posted on the web abstract portal (ORSAM portal) for questions and answers. Please respond to questions in the comments section in a timely manner.
Posters will be available in the Web Abstracts (ORSAM Portal) until March 31, after which they will be
automatically deleted. If you wish to have your data deleted immediately after the Annual Meeting, please check the  "Poster data" checkbox when uploading your poster.

Submission Method
(1) Please log in to the abstract submission system (ORSAM).

(2) On the menu screen, click "To revise the contents, click here." in the "Abstract Submission" section.
(3) At the bottom of the screen, there is a "Poster data (PDF) upload" field. Please make sure to upload the file in PDF format. The file name should be your abstract submission number (e.g. E00001.pdf).
(4) If you wish to delete your poster data after the Annual Meeting, please check the checkbox in the "Handling of Poster Data" box.
*Items other than "Upload Poster Data (PDF)" and "Handling of Poster Data" cannot be edited.

If you do not submit your poster data within the deadline, your poster data may not be published online in the ORSAM portal. Please be sure to submit your poster data within the deadline.
You may update your file as many times as you like within the deadline. Please note that o upload (revision) is allowed after the deadline.

4. Oral presentations

Slides used in oral presentations should be in English. Prepare a brief summary slide in English as the last slide.
Each presentation is allotted a 15-min slot, a talk for 12 min and discussion for 2 min 30 s, followed by a 30 s interval before the next speaker. To keep the session on schedule, please strictly follow the time limits.

2) Symposium presentations

The procedures for symposium presentations are the same as those for oral presentations except for the presentation time slots. Please ask the organizers of your symposium for details.

5. Symposia

Ten symposia are scheduled. The list of the symposia is attachedpdf as a PDF file. The details of the symposia will be given later on the website of JSPP Annual Meeting. All symposium speakers will be selected and invited by the symposium organizers. Please note that a symposium speaker cannot give an oral or poster presentation.

6. Banquet

Date: Monday, March 18, 2024
Place: THE KOBE CRUISE Luminous Kobe 2 (https://thekobecruise.com/)

The banquet will be a restaurant cruise (standing style) of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, departing from Kobe Port and passing directly under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. It takes about 45 minutes from the venue (Kobe International Conference Center) to the boarding point (Naka Pier Cruise Terminal 2F) via Sannomiya by subway (get off at Minato-Motomachi Station on the Kaigan Line) and on foot. Although there is plenty of room for participants, the seating style may be changed depending on circumstances such as the reemergence of COVID-19 infection. If the number of participants exceeds the maximum number, we plan to accept registrations in the order in which they are received. Detailed information is provided on the website of JSPP Annual Meeting.

7. Registration for Participation and Presentations
1) Presenters

Anyone who wants to present a paper (oral, poster or symposium presentations), should register for attendance and submit your paper title together with abstract by November 30, 2023, 24:00 (Japan Standard Time) through the online system. The list of categories (for oral or poster presentation)pdf is attached as a PDF file.

The abstract should not exceed 1200 letters. Figures and tables should not be placed in the abstract. Applications for presentations will not be accepted after the deadline. The program of the meeting will be placed on the website at the end of January 2024.

2) Non-Presenters

Registration is required for all attendees. Please register through the online system by February 6, 2024, 24:00 (Japan Standard Time).

* The availability of on-site registration of banquet will be announced later on the website and the Gakkai Tsushin Newsletter (in Japanese) No. 150, which will be published in February.

Non-member symposium speakers are exempt from registration fee, but banquet fee is required. Symposium abstract should be submitted on-line by November 30, 2023.

The registration fee should be paid on-line by credit card or sent by postal giro transfer (Postal account No. 00940-0-326705, domestic transaction only) by November 30, 2023 if you are presenting a paper, by February 6, 2024 if you are attending but not presenting paper.

The payment will not be refunded even if the registration is cancelled.
