The 67th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists was held at Meiji University's Surugadai Campus in central Tokyo and concluded successfully with 1,777 participants, including those who registered on the day. Approximately 250 people also attended from overseas, including Taiwan and the United States, partly due to a symposium with Taiwan held the day after the annual meeting. At the meeting, we made every effort to ensure accessibility for everyone by using both Japanese and English signage. We were able to utilize Meiji University's excellent facilities and hold the event in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online presentations. All research presentations took place in a single building, which I believe facilitated interaction among the participants. I received positive feedback from many people regarding the elimination of the speeches at the social gathering, but we apologize for any inconvenience caused to those who attended due to having to split the gathering into two venues.
In organizing this meeting, I received tremendous cooperation from the University of Tokyo, Meiji University, and other private and national universities in Tokyo who participated in the annual meeting committee and responded enthusiastically to our call for participation. I am deeply grateful. In particular, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the members of the Faculty of Agriculture at Meiji University for their efforts in arranging and organizing the venue.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the Tokyo Annual Meeting.
