Revision of PCP’s publication fees
Plant & Cell Physiology (PCP) was founded in 1959 as a members-only academic journal. Today, it stands as a one of top plant science journal, open to contributions from all, thanks to a publishing agreement with Oxford University Press (OUP). We're excited to announce a revision in our article publication fees.
Upon acceptance, authors can choose between Open Access (OA) publication, available to all readers, or regular publication (non-OA), following PCP's subscription model. Starting November 1, 2023, the revised fees will apply to submissions.
These changes aim to streamline the publication process and reduce costs for all authors. For example, articles spanning 10 pages will see a 40% reduction in fees. We look forward to receiving your work for publication.
If you are interested in submitting your paper as a JSPP member, please join to JSPP from "Become a Member"
OA publication (freely available online)
- The Article Processing Charge (APC) will remain the same (US$2,995 in 2023)*.
- JSPP members are entitled to a 20% discount on the APC.
* Payment of an APC may not be required if the corresponding author is affiliated with an institution which has a Read & Publish agreement with OUP. Click here to see if your institution is participating in one of these agreements.
Standard, non-OA publication (available to subscribers)
- Previously authors were required to pay an acceptance fee (£150 for members, £300 for non-members) and excess page charges levied on all pages of an article after the first 8 pages (£100 per page for members, £200 per page for non-members). This has been revised and reduced to a single, lower-cost page charge, which is applicable to all pages (US$50 per page). JSPP members are exempt from page charges.
- All invited articles are exempt from page charges.
